The International Cherry Orchard Festival of the Arts
On June 8th as part of the International Cherry Orchard Festival of the Arts, a special performance of "Shukshinґs Stories" took place on the New York City Center stage. The performance was presented by actors from Theatre of Nations and directed by world-renowned director, Alvis Hermanis.
The Fourth Annual Cherry Orchard Festival of the Arts became an initiative of the fund of the same name. The main goal of the Festival is to make world masterpieces of multi-disciplinary art that have never been presented in the USA, available to broad masses of the American public. The secret of success of the Festival is to attract a mixed audience — both Russian-speaking, and American — interested in world-class visual and performing arts and classical music. The Cherry Orchard Festival is proud to be in cooperation with the most prestigious venues in New York, Boston and Washington DC, including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall, and the New York Public Library.
This year the Legendary Armenian Brandy ARARAT became the official partner of the Festival. The brand’s values, such as passion and generosity, respect for traditions and searching for new edges of craftsmanship — are an essence of contemporary art. In turn, among art of all kinds the theatre is assigned one of the main roles in the ARARAT activities, as the most lively and emotional art. On developed traditions, ARARAT supports the most significant theatrical events in the world.
