ARARAT supports Vogue’s cocktail party

On December 17 with support of the ARARAT Legendary Armenian Brandy, Zilart Hall housed Vogue’s solemn cocktail party devoted to publication of 'Impresario. Dancers in New Dimensions’ book with the main topic of romance between ballet and stylish photography. The publication commemorated the twenty-fifth anniversary of Sergei Danilyan’s agency Ardani Artists.

The Russian Vogue has paid a lot of attention to dance and ballet since its release in 1998. That is clear while that was the Russian ballet to become the worldwide symbol of dance perfection. Either ballet or voguish landscape of the 20th century is hardly imaginable without the choreography of Marius Petipa, 'Ballets Russesґ of Sergey Dyagilev and the choreography of George Balanchine.

For all the eighteen years, almost each issue featured interviews with primas and premieres of the Bolshoi Theatre, the Mariinsky Theatre and Music Theatre named after Stanislavsky, promising Russian talents and global celebrities, many of whom have not once nor twice visited Russia over the years.

‘For over Vogue’s centenary history, ballet and ballet dancers have been shot by all the global photographers — from baron de Meyer till Horst, from Cecil Beaton till Richard Avedon, from Irving Penn till Patrick Demarchelier. Annie Leibovitz, a photographer of multiple splendid dance portraits, once said: 'Dance can hardly be shot as it is airborne disappearing therein’. But masters proved that they can catch air in their lens’, according to Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Victoria Davydova.

In a special space, the guests were shown the most vivid ballet photographs published in the Russian Vogue in different years.

The party ended with performance of young grant-holder musicians of the Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation and autograph signing session. The books of all those willing were signed by Victoria Davydova, the Bolshoi Theatre ballet dancer Yekaterina Shipulina, Sergey Danilyan, Nickolay Tsiskarydze, Igor Chapurin and a special guest – ballet dancer, Friedemann Vogel.

The guests enjoyed the rich taste of a special edition ten year old ARARAT Akhtamar Art Collection brandy, as well as ‘’Inspiration’’ and ‘’Craftsmanship’’ cocktails prepared specially in tribute to the gala night.
